In the summer of 2022, I was invited to paint a mural during College of the Atlantic’s Summer Institute: Our One and Only Ocean. I worked with the dedicated staff of Allied Whale to integrate their data into a design that celebrates the amazing Humpback whale tracking and conservation work that they do.

The fluke depicted belongs to Whistler, the first one photographed in two distinct places and matched in the database, confirming the hypothesis that flukes can be used as unique identifiers to track a whale’s migratory patterns.
