Arlington Eagle

American Alarm // Arlington, MA, USA // 20x6.5′ // 2024

This mural is dedicated in MK the Eagle, who was poison by rodenticide in Arlington, MA, and spurred a citywide call for a ban on these types of harmful products. I was asked by Arlington Public Art to make a memorial for her that would educate folks about what happened to her for many years to come.

I chose to include native plants that bio-remediate the soil, pulling out toxins through their roots and making it safe for us to plant foods and grow sustenance once again. These plants are a reminder that we can reverse the damage already done and take steps towards remediating our relationship with the natural world.
